Homemade Pepperoni Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced in half horizontally
  • ¼ cup salted butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Pepperoni slices (optional, but recommended for “pepperoni” garlic bread)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Spread the softened butter over each half of the French bread. Sprinkle the garlic powder evenly over the buttered surfaces.
  3. Place the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bread is lightly toasted.
  4. Remove the bread from the oven and spread the pizza sauce evenly over each half.
  5. If using, add a layer of pepperoni slices over the sauce. You can also add any other toppings you desire at this point.
  6. Top generously with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Return the bread to the oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Once done, let the bread cool for a few minutes. Then, slice it into individual portions and serve.
