Best Southern Fried Chicken Batter

    Ingredients:

    • 2 beaten eggs
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
    • 4 teaspoons garlic salt
    • 2 teaspoons black pepper
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    Directions:

    1. In a bowl, beat the eggs and milk together.
    2. In a large plastic bag, combine the flour with garlic salt, black pepper, poultry seasoning, and paprika.
    3. Place the chicken pieces in the bag, seal it, and shake to coat the chicken evenly with the flour mixture.
    4. Dip the flour-coated chicken pieces in the egg mixture, then coat them again in the flour mixture from the bag.
    5. Heat oil in a skillet to 365°F (185°C).
    6. Brown the chicken on all sides in the hot oil.
    7. Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue cooking the chicken for another 30 minutes or until it is cooked through.
    8. Drain the fried chicken on paper towels to remove excess oil.
