Tennessee Onions

 

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 sweet onions (such as Vidalia)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Slice the sweet onions into 1/4 inch rounds, separating the rings.
  3. Spread the onion rings in the prepared baking dish and sprinkle them with salt, garlic powder, and oregano.
  4. Slice the butter into approximately 8 pats and distribute them evenly over the onions.
  5. Sprinkle the Italian blend and cheddar cheese over the onions, and then add the parmesan cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the cheese is starting to bubble and brown.
  7. Serve the Tennessee Onions while still hot!
