Ingredients

For the crust

  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 box yellow cake mix

For the filling

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 16 oz powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) while you prepare your ingredients.
  2. Grease a baking dish and set it aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine the ingredients for the crust: 1 egg, softened butter, and yellow cake mix. Mix well until you get a dry mixture.
  4. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of the greased baking dish, covering it evenly.
  5. To prepare the filling, in another bowl, mix together the cream cheese, vanilla essence, and 2 eggs. Start by adding 1/4 of the powdered sugar into a separate small bowl or cup.
  6. Slowly add the remaining powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture while continuously mixing with your other hand. Ensure that you add the powdered sugar gradually to avoid creating a mess.
  7. After about 3 minutes of mixing, your creamy filling should be ready.
  8. Pour the creamy filling over the crust in the baking dish.
  9. Bake for 40-50 minutes until set. It may appear puffy while baking, but it will settle down as it cools.
  10. Let the bars cool completely, then sprinkle with the reserved powdered sugar.
  11. Once cooled, cut into bars and serve to your friends and family. Enjoy
