Description
This warm, melty baked brie is creamy, sweet, and crunchy. Topped with honey and toasted nuts, it’s an easy, elegant appetizer. Serve with crackers, baguette, or apple slices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 wheel of brie cheese (about 8 ounces) (use a high-quality brie for the best flavor)
- 3 tablespoons honey (for natural sweetness)
- ¼ cup mixed nuts (walnuts, pecans, and almonds recommended for a variety of textures)
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional) (adds a warm, aromatic note)
- Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional) (for a pop of color and freshness)
- Crackers, sliced baguette, or apple slices for serving (perfect for dipping and scooping)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare the Brie:
- Place the brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a small oven-safe dish.
Add Honey and Nuts:
- Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey evenly over the top of the brie.
- Sprinkle the mixed nuts on top, pressing them gently to adhere to the honey.
- If desired, sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon over the nuts for added flavor.
Bake:
- Bake the brie for 10-12 minutes, or until it feels soft and gooey to the touch (but not melted entirely).
Finish and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and drizzle the remaining honey over the top.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary if desired.
- Serve immediately with crackers, baguette slices, or apple slices.
Notes
- For a festive touch, serve the brie in a decorative baking dish or on a wooden board.
- If the brie oozes out while baking, don’t worry—it’s part of the charm!
- Always taste and adjust the sweetness or seasoning before serving.
