baked dinner rolls

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, add yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and warm milk (ensure it’s not too hot, as high heat will kill the yeast). Mix and cover the bowl for about 5-7 minutes to activate the yeast.
  2. To the yeast mixture, add the egg, melted butter, flour, salt, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for approximately 10 minutes or until the dough becomes smooth.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and put it in a warm place to rise until it has doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the risen dough to release the air. Roll the dough into small balls and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover the dish to allow the dough to rise a second time.
  6. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius (about 350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 to 20 minutes until the rolls turn golden brown.
  7. Once out of the oven, immediately butter the rolls.
  8. Enjoy these freshly baked dinner rolls!
