1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1¼ cups chopped pecans
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Oven and Pan
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
Grease a 9-inch pie dish or square baking pan for easy release.
Step 2: Make the Brownie Layer
-
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
-
Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
-
Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix gently until fully combined with no lumps.
-
Spread the brownie batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Step 3: Prepare Pecan Pie Topping

In a bowl, whisk together light corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
-
Stir in the chopped pecans, ensuring even distribution.
Step 4: Assemble and Bake
-
Carefully pour the pecan pie mixture over the brownie batter layer without disturbing the base.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 45–55 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

Allow the pie to cool completely in the pan to let layers set for clean slices.
-
Slice into squares or wedges and serve.
