Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 3 large eggs

  • ½ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter

  • ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar until well blended.

  3. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.

  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Cheesecake Filling

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.

  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  3. Mix in sour cream and flour until just combined.

  4. Pour the cheesecake batter over the cooled crust and smooth the top.

Step 3: Bake the Cheesecake

  1. Wrap the bottom of the springform pan in foil and place it in a water bath (a larger pan filled halfway with hot water).

  2. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is just set.

  3. Turn off the oven and crack the door. Let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.

  4. Transfer to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Step 4: Prepare the Caramelized Apple Topping

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  3. Cook for 8–10 minutes until apples are tender and golden.

  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 5: Assemble the Cheesecake

  1. Once chilled, carefully remove the cheesecake from the pan and place it on a serving plate.

  2. Arrange caramelized apples evenly on top.

  3. Drizzle generously with caramel sauce.

  4. Add whipped cream around the edges or on top for added indulgence (optional).

Notes

  • For homemade caramel sauce, try combining butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream over heat until thickened.

  • The apple topping can also be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.

  • For cleaner slices, dip your knife in warm water and wipe clean between each cut.
