Caramelized Baked Chicken Legs or Wings

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 lbs chicken legs
  • 1 2/3 tablespoons olive oil (to prevent sticking)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 2/3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 – 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius).
  2. Prepare Chicken:
    • Place chicken in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Make Sauce:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Pour Sauce Over Chicken:
    • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the baking dish, ensuring the chicken is well coated.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for one hour or until the sauce is caramelized, and the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
  6. Serve:
    • Once done, remove from the oven. Optionally, garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions. Serve the honey garlic baked chicken over rice or with your preferred side dishes.

Notes:

  • For a twist, you can also use chicken wings or pork ribs with the same sauce for baking.
  • Keep an eye on the chicken to prevent burning, and adjust cooking time if needed based on your oven’s temperature
