Ingredients
Scale
For the Caramelized Onion Jam:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing the onions)
- 1 cup onions, finely chopped (yellow or red onions work best)
- 2 tablespoons honey (adds natural sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (for a tangy depth of flavor)
For the Beef Patties:
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)
- ½ teaspoon salt (to season)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (for a hint of spice)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (adds savory flavor)
For the Sliders:
- 6 slider buns (soft and slightly sweet, perfect for sliders)
- 6 slices cheddar cheese (melty and delicious)
Instructions
Make the Caramelized Onion Jam:
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until soft and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in the honey and balsamic vinegar. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the Beef Patties:
- In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined.
- Shape the beef into 6 small patties, about the size of your slider buns.
Cook the Patties:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.
Toast the Buns:
- While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the slider buns in a toaster or on the skillet for extra crunch.
Assemble the Sliders:
- Place a cheesy beef patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Top with a generous spoonful of caramelized onion jam.
- Cover with the top half of the bun.
Serve and Enjoy:
- Arrange the sliders on a platter and serve warm. Watch them disappear in no time!
Notes
- For a glossy finish, brush the buns with melted butter before toasting.
- If you don’t have slider buns, use dinner rolls or even sliced baguette.
- Always taste the onion jam and adjust the seasoning before assembling the sliders.
