  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ cups milk

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar

  • 5 tablespoons milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan thoroughly.

Step 2: Make the Cake Batter

  • In a large bowl, mix together 3 cups flour, milk, white sugar, eggs, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.

  • Stir in the melted butter.

  • Pour the batter evenly into your prepared pan.

Step 3: Prepare the Cinnamon Swirl

  • In another bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and cinnamon until creamy.

  • Drop spoonfuls of this cinnamon mixture over the batter.

Step 4: Create the Swirl Effect

  • Using a knife, gently swirl the cinnamon mixture into the cake batter, creating a beautiful marble effect.

Step 5: Bake the Cake

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out almost clean.

  • Let the cake cool slightly.

Step 6: Make and Add the Glaze

  • In a bowl, whisk together confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  • Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm cake.

Notes

  • For best swirl patterns, don’t overmix once you’ve added the cinnamon layer.

  • If you love extra cinnamon flavor, sprinkle a little more ground cinnamon over the top before baking.

  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before glazing to prevent the glaze from completely melting off.
