Ingredients
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of butter or margarine, softened
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 1 egg
- 1- 21 oz. can of fruit pie filling (apple, cherry, peach, blueberry, blackberry, etc.)
- Sugar (or cinnamon-sugar) for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
- Prepare Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, softened butter or margarine, milk, and egg. Beat the mixture well until smooth.
- Pour Batter: Pour the prepared batter into the well-greased 9-inch pie plate.
- Add Pie Filling: In the center of the batter, spoon the fruit pie filling of your choice (apple, cherry, peach, blueberry, blackberry, etc.) leaving about 1 inch of space from the edge.
- Sprinkle Sugar: Sprinkle sugar (or cinnamon-sugar if using apple or peach filling) evenly over the pie filling. Do not stir.
- Bake: Place the pie plate in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the crust is browned and cooked through.
