Ingredients:
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 6 beef cube steaks (approximately 4 oz. each)
- 1 Tbsp. canola oil
- 3 cups water, divided
- 1 envelope brown gravy mix
- 1 envelope mushroom gravy mix
- 1 envelope onion gravy mix
Instructions:
- Lay the cube steaks flat on a cutting board. Sprinkle one side with flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Use a meat tenderizer or knife to pound the meat. Flip the steaks and repeat the process on the other side.
- In a separate bowl, mix the dry onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, milk, Kitchen Bouquet, and thyme.
- Place a single layer of the prepared steak in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour the mushroom sauce over the steak and sprinkle sliced mushrooms on top.
- Repeat the layering process with the remaining steak, sauce, and mushrooms.
- Cook in the slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- Serve the cooked dish over noodles or rice.
