Description
A molten chocolate dream in a flaky crust—fudgy, gooey, and so simple. Serve warm with ice cream for pure bliss
Ingredients
-
¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
-
1½ cups granulated sugar
-
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
-
⅛ teaspoon salt
-
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
-
3 large eggs
-
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
Instructions
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly place your unbaked pie shell in a 9-inch pie pan.
In a large mixing bowl, stir the melted butter and sugar until fully blended and slightly glossy.
Add the flour, salt, and cocoa powder to the butter-sugar mixture. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
Mix in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time, stirring until everything is well incorporated.
Pour the chocolate mixture into your prepared pie shell, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Place the pie in the oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is slightly cracked and the center is just set.
Let the pie cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm for a molten texture or let it cool completely for a firmer, fudgier finish.
Notes
-
This dessert pairs especially well with holiday menus, Valentine’s Day, and potluck tables.
-
For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pie crust and flour blend.
-
For a richer pie, substitute half of the sugar with brown sugar for a slight caramel note.
