Description

French Onion Beef & Noodles – A cozy one-pot meal with tender beef, rich broth, egg noodles, and creamy sour cream, inspired by French onion soup. Topped with crispy fried onions for the ultimate comfort food! Quick, easy, and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 pound beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup

  • 3 cups beef broth

  • 12 ounces egg noodles

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup French fried onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Brown the Beef

  • In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

  • Add stew meat and season with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Sear the beef for 3–5 minutes until browned on all sides.

2. Add Liquids

  • Pour in the French onion soup and beef broth. Stir to combine.

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

3. Cook the Noodles

  • Add the egg noodles directly into the pot.

  • Simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are fully cooked and tender.

4. Finish the Sauce

  • Remove the pot from heat.

  • Stir in sour cream and Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated.

  • The result should be a creamy, savory sauce that clings to the beef and noodles.

5. Serve

  • Spoon into bowls and top with crispy French fried onions for added crunch and flavor, if desired.

Notes

  • French fried onions are optional but add texture and restaurant-quality flair.

  • Adjust broth levels if you prefer a soupier or thicker dish.

  • Ideal for meal prep—this dish reheats beautifully.
