Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
  • 6 slices provolone
  • 6 slices Texas toast or other thick slice of bread
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Lightly toast the bread slices if desired. This step is optional but adds extra crunch.
  2. Seasoned Butter: In a bowl, mix melted butter, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, and oregano. Stir well to combine.
  3. Butter and Seasoning Application: Arrange the bread slices in an air fryer basket or on a baking sheet in a flat, single layer. Spread the seasoned butter mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
  4. Cheese Topping: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the seasoned bread. Place a slice of provolone on top of each bread slice.
  5. Cooking: For air frying, cook at 350°F for 5 minutes. Alternatively, bake in a convection oven at 375°F for 6–7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with dried parsley. Serve the delicious Garlic and Cheese Texas Toast as a perfect accompaniment to pasta dishes or alongside your favorite meats.

Notes:

  • Using day-old discounted bread works well and helps save money.
  • Leftover garlic toast can be easily reheated in the toaster oven for just a couple of minutes.
