  • Author: easysweetmeal
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 24 brownie bombs 1x

Description

These indulgent brownie bombs are a chocolate lover’s dream! A fudgy brownie exterior hides a surprise center of chocolate truffle or candy, all coated in a rich chocolate shell. Perfect for parties, gifting, or satisfying your sweet cravings!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Bombs:

  • 1 box (18.25 oz) brownie mix + ingredients listed on the box
  • 24 small chocolate truffles or candy pieces (e.g., chocolate caramels, peanut butter cups)
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable shortening or coconut oil

For the Coating:

  • 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable shortening or coconut oil
  • Sprinkles, chopped nuts, or cocoa powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Follow the temperature instructions on the brownie mix box.
  2. Prepare the Pan: Grease or line a mini muffin pan with cupcake liners.
  3. Make the Batter: Prepare the brownie batter according to the box instructions.
  4. Assemble the Bombs:
    • Fill each mini muffin cup halfway with batter.
    • Press a truffle or candy piece into the center.
    • Top with more batter until the cup is about ¾ full.
  5. Bake: Bake as directed for mini muffins, usually 15–20 minutes. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  6. Melt the Coating: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with shortening in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Dip the Bombs: Dip each brownie bomb into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
  8. Add Toppings: Place the coated bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and add optional toppings like sprinkles or nuts.
  9. Set the Coating: Let the chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes until firm.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, use holiday-themed sprinkles or colored chocolate coatings.
  • If you don’t have a mini muffin pan, you can shape the brownie bombs by hand after baking.
