- 6 tablespoons Sweet Cream Butter, chilled and cut into pieces
- 1 cup Self-Rising Flour
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons White Sugar
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups Fresh Blackberries
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
- Prepare a 9-inch cast iron skillet by spraying it with non-stick baking spray. Add the pieces of chilled butter to the skillet.
- Place the skillet in the preheated oven until the butter melts.
- In a medium bowl, combine the self-rising flour, salt, cinnamon, 1 cup of sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture until well combined.
- Remove the skillet from the oven (once the butter has melted) and pour the batter into the skillet.
- Sprinkle the fresh blackberries evenly over the prepared batter in the skillet.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 375 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown.
- Serve the cobbler warm. Optionally, garnish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
