Lazy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Ingredients:
- 15.25 ounce box yellow cake mix
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 5 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 12 ounce bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spray a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. I recommend using the kind that includes flour for easier removal.
- In a bowl, combine the dry cake mix with the melted butter and beaten eggs. It’s easier if you have an electric or stand mixer because the batter will be very thick.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips to distribute them evenly throughout the batter.
- Spread the thick batter into the greased baking dish. A handy trick is to spray your hand with some nonstick cooking spray and then use your hand to spread the batter since it can be quite thick.
- Once the batter is evenly spread out in the baking dish, place it in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 20-25 minutes.
- While baking, the cookie bars will puff up and turn a lovely golden brown around the edges when they are done.
- Allow the bars to cool before cutting and serving.
