Ingredients:
For the Cream Puffs:
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
For Mom’s Famous Filling:
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding
- 1/3 cup milk
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, bring butter, water, and vanilla to a boil. Add flour and stir constantly until it forms a ball and leaves the side of the pot. Remove and cool.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until smooth.
- Drop tablespoon-sized portions onto the prepared cookie sheets, leaving space between each. You should get about 8 large cream puffs.
- Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until the cream puffs are golden brown.
- Once out of the oven, you can poke each cream puff with a toothpick and return them to the turned-off oven with the door cracked to prevent deflating. Allow them to cool.
- For Mom’s Famous Filling, beat heavy cream, instant vanilla pudding, and milk in a mixer until thick.
- Slice each cream puff in half and pipe or scoop in the Mom’s Famous Filling.
- Dust with powdered sugar or pour melted chocolate over the top.
- Serve and enjoy these delightful cream puffs!
