Description: Seven Layer Dip is a classic and crowd-pleasing party appetizer that’s quick and easy to prepare. This delightful dip features layers of refried beans, guacamole, seasoned sour cream, fresh vegetables, and cheese. It’s perfect for dipping tortilla chips and is always the first dish to disappear at any gathering.
Ingredients:
- 2 avocados, peeled, pitted, and diced
- 1 ½ tablespoons fresh lime juice
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro
- ¼ cup salsa
- Garlic salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 (8 oz) container sour cream
- 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 4 Roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
- 1 bunch green onions, finely chopped
- 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
- 2 cups shredded Mexican-style cheese blend
- 1 (2.25 ounce) can black olives, drained and finely chopped
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, mash the avocados. Mix in lime juice, cilantro, salsa, garlic salt, and ground black pepper.
- In a separate small bowl, blend the sour cream and taco seasoning mix.
- Spread the refried beans evenly in a 9×13 inch dish or on a large serving platter. Layer on the sour cream mixture, followed by the guacamole. Then, add the diced tomatoes, green onions, Mexican-style cheese blend, and chopped black olives.
Notes:
- Feel free to customize the toppings to your preference. If you’d like to include ground beef, cook it until no longer pink and season it with taco seasoning. Add it between the layers of beans and sour cream.
- This dip can be refrigerated for 3-4 days.
- Use a thicker salsa to prevent the dip from becoming runny.
