Description

One-Pan Creamy Cajun Chicken & Garlic Parm Rice – Spiced, juicy chicken served over ultra-creamy garlic Parmesan rice—all made in one skillet! Bold, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Easy, hearty, and perfect for busy nights

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • ¼ cup chopped green onions or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Cook the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Season chicken with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  • Add chicken to the skillet and cook for 5–7 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and golden brown.

  • Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.

2. Sauté the Garlic

  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute, or until fragrant.

3. Cook the Rice

  • Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine.

  • Add uncooked rice and stir to distribute evenly.

  • Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low.

  • Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

4. Finish the Dish

  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet.

  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the rice mixture.

  • Simmer for another 2–3 minutes, allowing flavors to combine.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • Top with chopped green onions or parsley.

  • Serve hot and enjoy your creamy Cajun skillet meal.

Notes

  • Let the rice sit for 5 minutes after cooking to allow it to thicken.

  • This dish tastes even better the next day as the flavors develop.

  • For an extra-creamy texture, add a dollop of cream cheese in the final step.
