- 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking the chicken)
- 3 tbsp honey (for a touch of sweetness)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (for aromatic flavor)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning (for herby notes)
- 1/2 tsp salt (to season)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (to season)
- 12 oz rigatoni pasta (or any pasta of your choice)
- 2 cups chicken broth (for a flavorful base)
- 1 cup heavy cream (for creaminess)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for a savory, nutty flavor)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for melty goodness)
- 2 tbsp butter (for richness)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish and freshness)
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken pieces, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the chicken is browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- Make the Sauce:
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
- Stir in the honey and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Cook the Pasta:
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Add the rigatoni pasta and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Add the Chicken and Cheese:
- Stir in the cooked chicken, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Continue to cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Serve:
- Remove the pot from the heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
