Description

Juicy, pan-seared shrimp coated in a rich, buttery Hennessy sauce with hints of honey, garlic, and smoked paprika. A perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky flavors—ideal for an indulgent meal! 🦐🔥🥃

Ingredients

Scale

400g raw shrimp (large, peeled, and deveined)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

3 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)

2 tablespoons honey

60ml (1/4 cup) Hennessy cognac

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional)

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season and Cook the Shrimp:
    • In a bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and lightly golden. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Hennessy Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in the honey, Hennessy cognac, soy sauce, and Cayenne pepper (if using). Simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes glossy.
  3. Coat the Shrimp and Serve:
    • Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat generously with the sauce.
    • Add the lemon juice and cook for an additional minute to combine the flavors.
    • Serve immediately, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace the Hennessy with apple juice or chicken broth.
  • Use a large skillet to ensure even cooking of the shrimp.
  • Garnish with additional lemon wedges for a fresh, zesty finish.
