Ingredients
-
1 cup creamy peanut butter
-
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
½ cup packed brown sugar
-
1 large egg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1½ cups all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon baking soda
-
½ teaspoon salt
-
1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, beat peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and creamy.
-
Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
-
Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
-
Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
2. Shape and Bake
-
Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
-
Flatten slightly with a fork in a crisscross pattern for a classic peanut butter cookie look (optional).
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
-
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
-
Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
-
Don’t overmix the dough once you add the dry ingredients.
-
Let the cookies cool completely before storing to avoid sogginess.
