Description
This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet is a bold, one-pan meal with tender chicken in a creamy, buttery garlic-Parmesan sauce. Quick, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights
Ingredients
-
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
1/2 cup chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Sear the Chicken
-
Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat
-
Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper
-
Add the chicken to the skillet in a single layer
-
Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through
-
Remove from skillet and set aside
Step 2: Build the Sauce
-
In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter
-
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a light simmer
-
Let it reduce for 2–3 minutes to concentrate the flavor
Step 3: Add the Creamy Elements
-
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese
-
Mix continuously until the sauce thickens, about 3 to 4 minutes
-
Reduce heat to low for better control over the sauce consistency
Step 4: Return Chicken to the Pan
-
Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet
-
Toss until fully coated with the creamy butter sauce
-
Simmer together for 2–3 more minutes so the flavors meld
Step 5: Garnish and Serve
-
Sprinkle with fresh parsley for a pop of color and brightness
-
Serve immediately over rice, mashed potatoes, pasta, or a bed of sautéed spinach
Notes
-
For a deeper garlic flavor, sauté 1–2 cloves of minced garlic with the butter in Step 2
