Warm Baked Apple Fritters – Tender spiced apples in fluffy baked dough, drizzled with sweet vanilla glaze. All the cozy flavor of fried fritters—without the mess! Perfect for breakfast or dessert

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ cup milk

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thicker glaze)

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoon milk (add more to adjust consistency)

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together:

    • Flour

    • Baking powder

    • Ground cinnamon

    • Salt

    • Granulated sugar

3. Combine the Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.

  • Add the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.

  • Stir until fully combined.

4. Combine and Add Apples

  • Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.

  • Stir gently until the batter comes together.

  • Fold in the diced apples evenly.

5. Scoop and Bake

  • Drop heaping spoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each.

  • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. Prepare the Glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.

  • For a thicker glaze, add the optional cornstarch.

7. Glaze and Serve

  • Let the fritters cool slightly.

  • Dip or drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.

  • Serve and enjoy while still fresh.

Notes

  • If the batter feels too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen.

  • Sprinkle a cinnamon-sugar blend over the glaze for added texture.

  • Fritters are best enjoyed the same day but still delicious reheated.
