Forgotten Chicken Recipe

Ever heard of the forgotten chicken? It got its name because once you put it in the oven, you can forget about it, and it still turns out delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast pieces
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) while you prepare your ingredients.
  2. Grease a baking dish that will accommodate the chicken and rice.
  3. In a bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, rice, and water. Mix well until thoroughly combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Arrange the chicken pieces on top of the rice mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the chicken.
  7. Dot the top of the dish with butter.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is cooked, the water is absorbed, and the chicken is cooked through.
  10. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
