Ingredients

For the Brownies

  • Homemade (Optional):
    • 1 cup butter (2 sticks), melted
    • 3 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1¼ tsp. salt
    • 1 cup chocolate chips
    • 1 tsp. flour (for tossing chocolate chips)
  • Or use a boxed brownie mix

For the Pecan Pie Topping

  • ⅓ cup corn syrup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3½ cups pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Set your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare Brownies:
    • If using homemade brownies, sift flour, salt, and cocoa. Set aside.
    • In a large bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs (one at a time).
    • Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing well.
    • Toss chocolate chips with 1 tsp of flour, then fold into the batter.
    • Pour into a greased 9″ x 13″ casserole dish and bake for 25 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Make Pecan Pie Topping:
    • Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, melted butter, and salt in a medium bowl.
    • Stir in pecans until well coated.
    • Gently pour over the partially baked brownies, spreading evenly.
  4. Bake Again:
    • Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until set.

  • Serving Suggestion: These brownies are great on their own or topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
