- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
- Beat in egg and vanilla until well combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Scoop dough onto prepared sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
- Press an indentation into each cooled cookie and fill with about 1 teaspoon vanilla custard.
- Melt chocolate chips with vegetable oil in 30-second microwave bursts. Drizzle over cookies and let set 10–15 minutes.
Notes
Chill cookies briefly before filling for cleaner custard wells. Store refrigerated for best texture.
