Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Pecan Layer
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth.
  3. Whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Spread brownie batter evenly in the prepared pie dish.
  5. In a bowl, whisk brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt for the pecan layer, then stir in pecan halves.
  6. Carefully spread pecan mixture over the brownie layer.
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes until set. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a richer flavor, toast the pecans lightly before adding them to the topping. Allow pie to cool completely to ensure clean slices.
