Method
- In a bowl, mix together garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, cayenne, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper to make Cajun seasoning.
- Beat butter with an electric mixer for 2 minutes until light and fluffy. Blend in honey and 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning until smooth.
- Pat salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Rub lightly with oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat grill or grill pan. Cook salmon for 6–8 minutes per side, until opaque and crusty.
- Spread a generous amount of Cajun honey butter over the salmon after removing from heat. Let melt for 30 seconds, then spread with a spoon. Flip and repeat on the other side.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Serve with roasted veggies, rice, or mashed potatoes to soak up the extra sauce. Leftover Cajun seasoning can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months. For a milder version, reduce cayenne and crushed red pepper. For extra smoky depth, use smoked paprika.
