Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 28 ounce bag shoestring French fries
  • 10.5 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
  • 10.5 ounce can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon dehydrated onions
  • Black pepper, to taste (for sauce)

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • Large skillet
  • Mixing spoon
  • casserole dish (7x11 inch)
  • Oven
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer and cook the French fries as directed on the package until crispy. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C).
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is fully cooked. Add minced garlic and cook for 30–45 seconds. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese soup with the beef mixture. Mix until evenly combined.
  5. Transfer the beef and soup mixture into a 7x11 inch casserole dish. Evenly layer the cooked French fries on top and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, dehydrated onions, and black pepper until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the burger sauce over the baked casserole just before serving.

Notes

You can swap the cream of mushroom soup for cream of chicken or cream of celery. Try using tater tots instead of fries for a twist. For extra spice, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
