Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
  • optional pickles for topping

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the cream of mushroom soup, ketchup, and mustard until fully combined.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread the beef mixture evenly into the bottom of the dish.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
  8. Arrange the frozen tater tots on top in a single layer.
  9. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until tater tots are golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Add pickles on top if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding chopped pickles or a drizzle of burger sauce on top before serving. You can also use cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom, or swap cheddar for a blend of cheeses.
