  • 1/2 tsp Garlic powder

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and melted butter.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and gently flatten each triangle.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough triangle.
  5. Fold the dough edges over the filling to form sealed pockets.
  6. Brush each pillow with beaten egg and sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top if desired.
  7. Arrange on the baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in flour to create a roux.
  9. Slowly add milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly.
  10. Simmer for 5–7 minutes, then add Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  11. Serve the warm sauce drizzled over the hot Chicken Pillows.

Notes

For extra flavor, add finely chopped sautéed mushrooms or spinach to the filling. You can also substitute the crescent dough with puff pastry for a flakier texture.
