  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup mustard-cheddar sauce
  • non-stick spray or oil for baking sheet

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and press into crushed pretzels until well coated.
  4. Place coated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. For the sauce: In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted.
  6. Add Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  7. Serve chicken hot with mustard-cheddar sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp green salad. The mustard-cheddar sauce also makes a delicious dip for fries or soft pretzels!
