Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Add-Ins
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9–10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch, gently press additional chocolate chips onto the tops of the cookies before baking.
