Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until a dough forms. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9–10 minutes, until edges are lightly golden but centers are still soft.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake by 1 minute. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
