Chocolate Peanut Butter Dream Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 16 oz chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • cups milk
  • Additional whipped topping and chocolate curls, for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine crushed chocolate sandwich cookies and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish to form a crust. Refrigerate while preparing the next layer.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together peanut butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping.
  3. Spread the peanut butter mixture over the cookie crust and return to the refrigerator to set while preparing the pudding layer.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until the pudding begins to thicken. Spread the pudding evenly over the peanut butter layer.
  5. Chill the dessert for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. Before serving, top with additional whipped topping and sprinkle with chocolate curls for garnish. Slice and serve.

Notes

For a fun twist, use double-stuffed chocolate sandwich cookies for the crust or swap chocolate pudding with vanilla for a lighter flavor. These bars are best served chilled and can be made a day in advance. Garnish with crushed peanuts or drizzle with melted chocolate for extra flair.
