Ingredients
  

Cookie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (for decoration)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle festive sprinkles on top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

Optional: Mix in dried cranberries or white chocolate chips for extra festive flavor. Bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
