Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips and optional nuts until evenly distributed.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle festive sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
- Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
Optional: Mix in dried cranberries or white chocolate chips for extra festive flavor. Bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
