Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and buttermilk.
- Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in sprinkles, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with coarse sugar or additional sprinkles if desired.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use jimmies-style sprinkles to prevent color bleeding. For a richer flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Store tightly wrapped to keep the bread soft.
