Method
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8.5 × 4.5-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60–70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to parchment paper.
- While the loaf is still warm, brush the top with melted butter and generously sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar-nutmeg mixture.
Notes
For an extra donut-like crust, sprinkle half the topping on the loaf, let it cool completely, then brush with more melted butter and add the remaining topping.
