Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 oz packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 oz packet brown gravy mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • salt, to taste
  • pepper, to taste
  • chopped parsley (for garnish)

Equipment

  • crockpot / slow cooker
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • forks (for shredding)
  • Measuring cups

Method

  1. Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ranch dressing mix, brown gravy mix, chicken broth, and cream of chicken soup. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts in the crockpot, ensuring the chicken is coated.
  4. Cook on low heat for 6 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the gravy using two forks.
  6. Stir in the sour cream and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve the chicken and gravy over rice or mashed potatoes and garnish with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, add sliced onions or minced garlic to the crockpot before cooking. This recipe freezes very well and can be doubled for meal prep. Adjust seasoning at the end, as gravy packets may already contain salt.
