- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
- If using, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese to the green bean mixture.
- Pour the green bean mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and top with fried onions. Return to the oven for 5–10 minutes, until onions are crispy and golden brown.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Make it vegetarian by using cream of mushroom soup without meat stock. Add a pinch of cayenne or paprika for a flavor boost. Can be prepped ahead and baked just before serving.
