  • 20 Oreo cookies (230 grams)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 8 oz bittersweet baking chocolate (melted)
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups heavy cream (cold)
  • 4 tsp powdered sugar
  • chocolate shavings for garnish

Equipment

  • pie dish
  • food processor or rolling pin for crushing Oreos
  • Mixing bowls
  • electric mixer or whisk
  • Spatula
  • double boiler for melting chocolate

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. Mix with melted butter and press into a pie dish. Bake for 10 minutes and let cool.
  2. Melt bittersweet chocolate in a double boiler. In another bowl, beat sugar and eggs until fluffy, then mix in melted chocolate.
  3. Add room temperature butter one tablespoon at a time until smooth.
  4. Pour the filling into the cooled crust and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
  5. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then spread over the chilled pie.

Notes

For extra indulgence, top with chocolate curls or a drizzle of melted chocolate. Chill well before serving for the smoothest texture. Use pasteurized eggs for safety if serving to children or pregnant guests.
