Ingredients
  

  • 6 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until coated.
  3. Spread apple mixture evenly in prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt.
  5. Cut in cold butter using fingers or a pastry cutter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over apples.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until topping is golden and apples are tender.
  8. Let cool slightly. Serve warm with ice cream or custard.

Notes

Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or custard. Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for balanced flavor. You can also add chopped nuts to the topping for extra crunch.
