Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
  • ½ cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Hand mixer or whisk
  • Rubber spatula
  • 8x8-inch baking dish (or similar)
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a small baking dish (8x8-inch or similar) for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Gently fold in the lump crab meat, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix just until combined – be careful not to shred the crab meat too much.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and slightly golden on top.
  6. Let the dip rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with crackers, chips, or toasted bread for dipping.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, always drain crab meat well before mixing.
  • Avoid overbaking, as it can dry out the dip.
  • This recipe doubles easily for larger parties.
