- Combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a medium bowl. Mix until evenly moistened.
- Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
- Stir in the key lime juice and lime zest (if using). Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the key lime mixture evenly over the chilled graham cracker crust.
- Spread the whipped topping evenly over the key lime layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the dessert to set.
- Garnish with extra whipped topping and lime slices before serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh key lime juice. Chill overnight for a firmer texture. You can also make this recipe in individual cups for easy serving.
