Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • lemon slices (for garnish)

Equipment

  • skillet or frying pan
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • knife and cutting board

Method

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and add chicken. Cook until golden and cooked through, about 5–6 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, honey, and Italian seasoning. Stir well and bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over it. Simmer for an additional 3–4 minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

For extra depth, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding broth. You can also add a knob of butter for a richer sauce. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables.
