- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, green onions, slivered almonds, bacon, and hot sauce. Stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread evenly with a spatula.
- In a separate bowl, mix crushed Ritz crackers with melted butter until coated. Sprinkle evenly over casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with extra green onions if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, use rotisserie chicken and sharp cheddar. You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream to lighten it up. Add a pinch of cayenne or extra hot sauce for a spicier kick.
